Xaver™ Technology Camero-Tech Ltd. is a pioneer in the development and marketing of radar-based imaging systems. Mistral Security in partnership with Camero offers the Xaver™ product line of Sense-Throughthe-Wall imaging solutions to the law enforcement and intelligence communities in North America. All Xaver™ systems utilize a unique, micropower-controlled, Ultra-Wideband (UWB) pulsed radar sensor that operates at very high bandwidth and enables reliable detection and cutting-edge object resolution of live objects on the other side of a wall. Patented image reconstruction algorithms are used to cope with cluttered environments, resulting in a high-quality and intuitive radar image. Penetrable wall materials include cement, plaster, brick, concrete, reinforced concrete, adobe, stucco, drywall, wood and many other standard building materials. The Xaver™ family of STTW imaging systems provides unprecedented operational advantage to tactical teams operating in urban environments. Xaver™ 100 The Xaver™ 100 ( X-100) is optimized for the speed of tactical entries and is operated directly against a wall. It is about the size of two 30-round M-16 magazines, weighs approximately one pound, 64 LAW and ORDER I July 2013 www.mistralsecurity.com and easily fts in the cargo pocket or ammo pouch of a uniform. The X-100 is a tactical STTW detection system that uses UWB, pulsed radar to penetrate standard building materials and alert the user to the presence of live objects on the other side of the wall. The X-100 instantly provides critical situational awareness and target range to the operator. This ultra-portable, compact, and handheld sensor features an optimized rugged design for tactical operations, and its simple user interface provides clear and immediate interpretation. The X-100 must be operated directly against a wall and provides a 26-foot detection range of live objects on the other side of the wall. The X-100 provides the operator with the range only to the live object on the other side of the wall. It features a frequency range of 3GHz to 10GHz, and has a range resolution of less than 6 inches. Using four AA batteries, the unit provides three hours of operating time. Coexistence capability allows for operation of multiple Xaver™ 100 units simultaneously, and the optional XaverNet Rugged PDA platform provides full wireless control and viewing of multiple units. Potential uses of the X-100 include Tactical Entry/Assault, Hostage Recovery, Search & Rescue, Breaching, and Force Protection. Xaver™ 400 The Xaver™ 400 has been optimized for intelligence gathering that delivers both range and bearing to live objects on the other side of the wall. The X-400 provides vital situational awareness information in real time to special ops and rescue forces in mission critical scenarios. This compact system provides maximum mobility and maneuverability, and is ready to go at the push of a button, requiring no warm-up time. The X-400 features a simple user interface with tracking capabilities for intuitive interpretation, and simultaneous detection of live stationary and moving objects. The system features a frequency range of 2GHz to 10GHz and a range resolution of less than 2 inches. The system uses both a rechargeable battery capable of delivering up to 4.0 hours of operation, and primary batteries that can deliver up to an additional 2.5 hours of operation. The Xaver™ 400 has a 65-foot detection range that can operate in both direct contact with the wall as well as in stand-off mode, and provides tactical teams with critical information about moving and stationary live objects within the room, room dimensions, static objects and infrastructure elements of the room. An optional internal wireless video transmitter is available for remote display when used in stand-off mode. S LaO Post your comments on this story by visiting www.lawandordermag.com
