1. 3. 2. 3. CitySync Technologies www.citysynctech.com CitySync Technologies' ALPR systems meet the challenges of license-plate physi- cal condition, variable fonts, vehicle speed, levels of reflection, angles and other factors. CitySync offers both hardware and soft- ware solutions. The company's "JetPlain" entry-level ALPR system is a cost-effective single and dual lane application, and incor- porates an on-board database that the soft- ware employs to match against oncoming vehicles. The screen shows any identified driver and the vehicle information. The JetPlain includes a Tower PC with XP Pro operating system, 17-inch TFT monitor with audio, keyboard and mouse, and software. Cameras are linked to the PC through a coaxial cable. Factory set- tings permit the system to start reading plates once the camera is in place. Over- view cameras can be attached to the sys- tem for a color context image of the vehicle, if needed. CitySync also offers the "Jet RoadRun- ner Commander" unit that is intended either for vehicle or for temporarily estab- lished use. Installed in minutes, the unit captures plates concurrently from up to four lanes of high-speed traffic. It has a full, real-time database and can match numer- ous hot lists, making an alarm processing alert when a hit is made. Sealed against permeation from rain or dust, the units can endure 15G accelerations and 1-meter drops and can function in most weather temperatures. 4. Coban Technologies www.cobantech.com Coban Technologies' "Vision-ALPR" is rated by its manufacturer as a cost-effec- tive ALPR unit that can integrate with COBAN in-car video systems, and make data sharing possible between agencies. Up to four ALPR cameras per vehicle can be supported and the system runs continu- ously and automatically while recording video. Existing and custom hot lists can be combined so the system gathers, analyzes, and acts on information about cars and/ or persons of interest. A confirmed hit will trigger the COBAN video system. The system works with existing Windows®-based, in-car MDCs or lap- tops, and works with any COBAN in-car video system including EDGE and Titan M7. Two paired cameras combine in a single housing, with the infrared camera reading the plate and the color-with-pre- view camera capturing the license plate. A separate camera, set at a 90-degree angle, captures license plates of parked vehicles. All plates are stored with GPS coordinates to show where the scan or hit occurred. A history of plates scanned over a 10-day pe- riod is searchable. The COBAN Edge integrated video and ALPR system economizes space, power consumption, maintenance and budget for in-car video and ALPR. A 5.7-inch touchscreen monitor has an easy-to-access interface. The system makes the best use of existing infrastructure (server, storage, database and wireless network). A central- ized management system streamlines the interaction between video and ALPR. An in-field plate transfer uses 3G/4G wireless to send scanned license plates back to the server for near real-time search capability. An automatic video trigger notifies the system to record when the of- ficer confirms a hot license plate. Hot list updates and a map-based search function ease the matching and recognizing of full or partial license plates. 5. Decatur Electronics www.decaturelectronics.com Decatur Electronics has partnered with leading ALPR manufacturers to create 4. 5. 6. the OnSite™ 400 LPR, a one-of-a-kind speed/ALPR trailer. It enables tracking vehicles at any location and provides license plate capture, GPS location, a photo of the vehicle, and time and date of read. The Onsite 400 has two 55-watt solar panels for extended battery life, high-ca- pacity AGM batteries with an estimated five-day run time, a one-line variable messaging sign, two infrared/color LPR cameras, a heavy-duty trailer chassis, a removable tongue for security, and a three-digit 18-inch LED display visible from 1,000 feet. The unit supports wire- less cellular modem. 6. ELSAG North America www.elsagna.com The ELSAG Mobile Plate Hunter 900® uses some of the most accurate tech- nology available. Real-time knowledge and post-action intelligence are inter- linked to increase productivity and officer safety. The company has a net- work of fixed ALPR systems that can be mounted to such positions as bridges www.lawandordermag.com 45
